Leaving Adrift? The 20-second cleanup.
Leaving is fine — the tracker was always yours, not ours. It's two tiny automations per tracked app in Apple's Shortcuts app, and they come out as easily as they went in.

In Shortcuts, open the Automation tab.

Swipe left on each Adrift automation to delete it. Every tracked app has two — one for opening, one for closing. Both go.
Swiping all the way left deletes in one motion — no Delete tap needed.

Delete the Adrift app itself, like any other app.
Automations first, then the app — in that order you'll never see an error.
That's the whole exit. No account to close, nothing left running, nothing left behind.
Deleted the app before the automations? Until they're removed, iOS shows an “Automation failed” banner over the tracked app on every open and every close. Inside the broken automation, Shortcuts reports:
That “Update Shortcuts” link is a dead end — updating Shortcuts fixes nothing. Deleting the automation does. Steps 1 and 2 above are still the whole fix.
Coming back?
Reinstalling Adrift revives your automations automatically — no re-setup, they just start working again. If one direction still errors after a reinstall (opening records, closing fails), open that automation in Shortcuts and back out without changing anything. Viewing it is enough to re-link the action.
Questions
Can one automation cover all my apps?
No. The Shortcuts trigger can watch several apps at once, but the action inside can record only one, so every session from the other apps would be logged under the wrong name. One open and one close automation per tracked app is what keeps your numbers honest.
