Adrift is built local-first. What you do on your phone stays on your phone. This page is the whole story, in plain language.
Your sessions stay on your phone
Every session Adrift times — which app, when, for how long — is stored only on your device. There is no account, nothing to sign into, no server holding your history, and no way for us to read it. Your notes to yourself are yours alone; they never leave the phone.
The one exception: anonymous funnel events
Adrift sends a small set of anonymous counting events through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service that anonymizes everything it receives. These events tell us things like "someone finished setup" so we can see where the app loses people. They carry no session contents, no timestamps of your scrolling, no note text, and nothing that identifies you. Session durations are sent as coarse buckets (like "3–6 minutes"), never exact numbers, and each install carries a random group letter (a/b/c/d) used only to compare app variants.
This is the complete list, exactly as it appears inside the app under Settings → Privacy:

Purchases
Adrift Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card, your name, or your Apple ID. StoreKit tells the app only whether a purchase or trial is active.
What we don't do
No tracking across apps or sites. No advertising identifiers. No selling or sharing of data — there is nothing to sell. No third-party SDKs beyond TelemetryDeck. The Shortcuts automations you build run entirely on your device, under your control, and you can delete them any time.
